Backcountry Powder Skiing Season

Backcountry Powder Skiing season for ‘Gulmarg’ starts from early Dec to late Mar but peak season is between early Jan and late Feb.

Gulmarg’s gondola

 As ‘Free-ride ski’ magazine said;

“Gulmarg’s snow terrain is just like heli-skiing without a helicopter!”, Gulmarg’s gondola makes that possible.

 As Guinness Book of Records listed it for the gondola going up highest in the world, skiers feel thrill like they are going up to the sky by helicopter because it goes from the gondola station(2650m) to top of Gulmarg(3980m).

Gulmarg hotels exhibit a strong colonial charm coupled cottage-like rooms. All rooms are double with en suite bathrooms, and fully equipped with linen. A porter regularly warms up the rooms by firing up the bakari with wood(pot-bellied stove)

There are restaurants with menu for Indian food and western food and also bars!
I think they are well building up atmospheres for world skiers coming to Gulmarg.
