Seoul Forest, which has been under construction since January of this year, will be open to the public this coming June 18. Also called Central Park of Seoul city even before its construction began, this park offers the opportunity to experience Nature's animals close up. It is a spacious three-hundred fifty thousand pyeong, with the ecological forest making up forty-five thousand pyeong. The ecological forest harbor formosan deer, Chinese water deer, fallow deer, squirrels, mallards, mandarin ducks, and much more. Therefore, while taking a stroll in the forest, you may have the luck of coming across animals you normally wouldn¡¯t easily see in Seoul.
Seoul Forest has also prepared approximately eight thousand pyeong of large grass lawns to offer more than a gateway for the public, but also a place for to foster cultural experiences. An outdoor stage will be set up in this area to offer the public various events and concerts all year round.
The opening ceremony of Seoul Forest will begin at 7 p.m. on June 18. Celebratory events will continue on until June 26 with a variety of programs. On June 18 there will be a concert to celebrate the completion of the forest's construction. On June 19, free hot air balloon rides will be offered, and a concert will be held in the forest. There will also be classic parties, movie screenings, and sports competitions, a variety of games and programs for both adults and children to enjoy together.
You can take subway line 2 (green line) and get off at Ttukseom Station, go out exit number 8. After about a five-minute walk, you'll find yourself at Seoul Forest. Or, you can also get to Seoul Forest by walking or bicycling across the Hangang River pedestrian bridge. If you stroll along Jungnangcheon Stream connecting north Seoul, you'll find yourself at Seoul Forest at the end of the unique walking course.
