Overview

Let us take you on an insightful 2 day trip to discover an important part of Korean history.
This overnight trip we will take you to discover and learn about North and South Korea’s conflicting history by staying at a village right next to the DMZ from where you can see North Korea by looking out of the window. At our accomodation we will have Korean breakfast, lunch and dinner made by the villagers.
The surrounding nature we will explore by walking along the 4km long canyon trail built along the canyons which were formed by volcanic eruptions.
We will also visit the 2nd Infiltration Tunnel, the Unification Observatory and Woljeonri Train Station.
Sign up now if you don’t want to miss this amazing trip

  • Stay in a pension house that is just 5 km from the border. You’ll be able to see into North Korea from the pension house, but don’t worry, it is completely safe.
  • Take a walk along the 4 km long trail built along the canyons created by volcanic eruptions.
  • Visit and explore the 2nd Infiltration Tunnel, the second tunnel found by South Koreans that the North Koreans dug into the country
  • Go to the Unification Observatory which overlooks the Iron Triangle Battlefield, which had the highest number of casualties during the war, and look into North Korea with binoculars
  • We’ll visit Woljeongri Train Station. Woljeongri is the last stop of one of the lines going into North Korea, and with the sign that says “The Iron Horse wants to run” you can see the remains of a train that used to make trips into North Korea often.
  • Go to the Labor Party Building where the Labor Party was headquartered before the Korean War broke out. When the war started and during the anticommunist movement, the people there were tortured and killed. The back of the building has human remains, metal chains, and lots of bullets still to this day
  • Learn how to make and decorate  rice clay cakes
  • Make your own tofu and Makgeolli to enjoy during our Korean BBQ party
  • Sit around a campfire and make some smores while talking with everyone
