We are offering a daily canyoning trip in Gapyeong! This trip runs from April through to the end of October; you can enjoy sliding and rappelling down waterfalls in the hot weather of the summer or marvel at the spectacular colours in the fall. The canyoning company also has GoPros that they can take during your tour. Pictures will be sent to you after the tour at no extra cost!

Meet at the venue or get picked up at the Gapyeong Train Station by the canyoning company
Change into swimwear (shorts and rash vest) at the venue parking
Hike 1 hour into Jomurak Valley (the final 20 minutes goes off trail!)
Put your wetsuits and safety gear on at the top of the canyon, where your guide will give you a safety brief.
Learn to abseil as you descend 4 waterfalls (7m, 5m, 9m and 20m)
Slide and swim in mountain pools
Exit the valley, feeling exhilarated and refreshed.

*****OPTIONAL LOCATIONS*****

Yongso Falls – another location lower down the Gapyeong Valley. At the spot, there are different cliff jumps ranging from 3m to 5m in height.
You will get the chance to go on the famous Nami Island and other places in the area
Visit Petite France where many famous dramas were filmed including ‘My Love from the Star’ and more and relax after an exciting day and walk around the shops and see the amazing recreation of French architecture and art
Go to the breathtaking Garden of Morning Calm where you can see the amazing display of flowers they have to offer

ITINERARY

Sample Itinerary
*This itinerary varies depending on your train departure time from Seoul
*All tours are private. Tours take between 3 and 4.5 hours (from the entrance of the valley) depending on the size and ability of the group.

*Jomurak Valley
Nestled between Hwaaksan (Gyeonggi Province’s highest peak) and Seokryongsan. We will hike up Jomurak Valley for one hour, along a shady and gently inclined trail, until we reach one of its steeper tributaries. After enjoying a rest, we will then go off trail and make a short but steep ascent to get up above the waterfalls. Once reaching a point where very few ever venture to go, we begin our wet descent of Bukho Falls. On this tour, we tackle two waterfalls in 5 stages.
We’ll then show you some of the more secluded and beautiful swimming spots in the valley on our return back to the start.

*How to Pay for Trips
A deposit of 20,000won (20 USD via PayPal) is required when you book your trip. The remaining cost will be paid at the canyoning site in cash (100,000won).

1. You can use ATM machines to wire payments directly from your bank account to Adventure Korea’s account, which is NH Bank account no: 317-0017-2503-51 under the name of (주)더에이케이트래블. When you use the ATM just pay for the deposit (20,000won/20 USD). The remaining cost (100,000won) will be paid on site in cash.
2.Otherwise, you can visit any bank in Korea and have a teller wire the funds on your behalf
3.You also can pay into our paypal account below and it is 20USD

*How to come to Jomurak valley
For those with their own car:
Use this name as your navigation address – 조무락계곡
A precise location will be agreed upon on the day, according to how busy the main parking areas are.
Parking fees may apply.

For those who would make the journey from Seoul by bus:
We offer pick ups from Gapyeong Station (가평), on the Gyeongchun Line. This line can be accessed with the Seoul Metro Transportation cards.
From this station, it is possible to reach our meeting point via public buses (33-4 & 50-1, as well as 50-4 on weekends).

For those who require transportation from Seoul:
Subject to availability, we can provide transport by private car from, and back to, Seoul (contact us for pick up locations).
Subject to availability, we may also be able to provide assistance in booking accommodation in the area for those who wish to extend their stay in the local area.

Additional Information

What you need to bring;
– Swimwear (shorts and rash vest)
– Footwear to wear in the canyon (these will get wet!) – suitable footwear is trainers, trail shoes, approach shoes, lightweight hiking boots (sandals and flip flops are not appropriate)
– Any medication that you may require
