Lotte World is the largest indoor theme park in Seoul! Filled with thrilling rides, games, parades, shows, tasty snacks, and even a massive royal castle; Lotte World is a magical place perfect for the whole family!
Directions and Layout
Getting there is a breeze! Lotte World is connected to the famous Lotte World Tower and department store (which is the tallest building in Seoul!) so you can easily make your way directly to the park entrance. Additionally, subway lines 2 and 8 go directly to the underground entrance at Jamsil station. If you have any trouble with directions, I always recommend downloading Naver Maps, which is free and available in english!
Once inside, you’ll have four stories to explore indoors, as well as a “magical island” outdoor section. You can experience the famous K-drama shooting locations first hand, such as the carousel from Business Proposal, or the ice rink from True Beauty! Head outside to see the castle or ride the popular Atlantis ride or Gyro Drop! Besides a small few rides, wait times are usually not too bad! For the bigger rides, consider getting a magic pass to skip the line completely, which is available for purchase on the Lotte World website.
Additionally, there are various shows happening throughout the day on the big Lotte stage, where mascots Lotty and Lolly may make an appearance! And, if you come during the right season, there’s a special Pokemon collaboration where you can meet and greet some adorable Pikachus.There’s also two parades, and a cinematic castle light show at the end of the night. After all that fun, there is even an attached folk museum completely free of charge and inside Lotte World Tower, there’s an aquarium which can be added on as an upgrade to your tickets for a small charge. There’ll be plenty to do to stay entertained the whole day at Lotte World!
Dress-Up
One of the most unique and beloved traditions at Lotte World is renting Korean school uniforms—a nostalgic experience that lets you dress up like a local student. This trend began as a way for students to celebrate the end of exams, and today, it’s a popular photo opportunity for visitors wanting to relive their youth or just take part in a fun cultural custom. You’ll also notice visitors wearing animal ear headbands, part of the “K-cute” trend that makes everything at Lotte World feel playful and Instagram-worthy. From the themed outfits and whimsical decorations to cute snacks like blue bear-shaped cotton candy, the whole park is designed to delight.
