Written by Eunji Chu

Last week in October, Adventure Korea went on a 3N4D tour to discover the vibrant culture and rich history of Korea. We welcomed a wonderful group from Turkiye, our brother country, for an unforgettable journey that showcased the best of Korea.

Upon arrival, our guests were greeted with a delightful Dakgalbi welcome dinner, a traditional Korean dish known for its spicy stir-fried chicken, vegetables, and delicious sauces. This warm welcome set the tone for an incredible trip filled with culinary delights and cultural experiences.

The tour began with a visit to the iconic Gyeongbokgung Palace, the largest and oldest of the Five Grand Palaces built during the Joseon Dynasty. Our guests marveled at the stunning architecture, beautiful gardens, and the Changing of the Guard ceremony, which showcases traditional military attire. The palace is also home to the National Palace Museum of Korea, where visitors can explore artifacts that provide a glimpse into Korea’s royal past.

Next, we stopped by the Blue House, the official residence of the President of South Korea. This beautiful complex, surrounded by nature and mountains, symbolizes the nation’s government and progress. Our guests were fascinated by the history and significance of this iconic building, with opportunities for photographs against its picturesque backdrop.

The itinerary continued with a visit to the War Museum of Korea, which offers profound insights into Korea’s turbulent history, including the Korean War. Exhibits include military artifacts, personal stories, and a variety of military vehicles. Our guests left with a deeper understanding of Korea’s journey toward peace and resilience.

Journey to Busan

Traveling by KTX, Korea’s high-speed train, our group experienced the thrill of reaching Busan in just a few hours. This coastal city is renowned for its beautiful beaches and rich cultural heritage.

In Busan, we explored the colorful streets of Gamcheon Village, often referred to as the “Machu Picchu of Busan.” This artistic village, with its vibrant murals, steep streets, and unique houses, offers visitors a chance to immerse themselves in local art and culture. Our guests enjoyed wandering through the alleys, discovering quirky cafes, and interacting with local artists.

Our next stop was the UN Peace Park, dedicated to the efforts of peace and reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula. The park features beautiful landscaping, monuments, and educational displays that honor the sacrifices made for peace. It was a poignant reminder of the importance of harmony in our world, and our guests appreciated the opportunity for reflection.

A Fond Farewell to Osaka

On the last day of their journey, we bid farewell to our Turkish guests as we sent them off to Osaka. This transition allowed them to continue their adventure in Japan, carrying with them memories of a remarkable experience in Korea.
